Without Suffering...

Without suffering,
I would not have experienced
So much of your grace and strength.

Without suffering,
I would not be as aware
of others who hurt.

Without suffering,
I would not have learned the lessons
You had for me.

Without suffering,
I would not have completely
Allowed You to empty me of self
And to fill me with Your Holy Spirit.

Without suffering,
I would not know the blessing
of Your miracles.

Without suffering,
I would not be writing poetry
That lifts up Your name.


That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:7

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. I Peter 5:10

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
